About me
The Irony Isn't Lost on Me
I grew up with health-conscious parents who walked the talk: fresh vegetables at every meal, regular exercise, healthy living before it was an Instagram hashtag. The rebel in me resisted it all.
I found greens revolting. I rolled my eyes at their qigong routines. The irony that I now coach people on wellness? Parents are always right!
But while I was rebelling, those habits have set a foundation in me unknowingly.
The Wake-up Call
Fast forward to my early corporate years, when I was convinced my body ran on endless batteries. Relentless hours, whatever food was fastest and crammed social calendar, because that's what young professionals do, right?
My body protested. Persistent severe acne. A racing mind. Turns out, you can't outrun basic human needs.
The Discovery Years
What followed was decades of discovering what works, mostly by discovering what doesn't.
Yoga taught me presence. Meditation took a decade before I understood it wasn't about perfect silence (spoiler: that's not a thing). Nutrition showed me my skin issues were my body asking for nourishment, not convenience.
Marathon training brought joy and injuries. I learnt the hard way: you can't just push through everything. Sometimes the strongest thing is listening to your body and working with it, not demanding it keep up with your ambition.
I made peace with greens too with over a decade of mostly whole food plant-based living, who saw that coming?
Lessons Across Borders
Career growth took me across five countries and three continents, navigating different cultures, building new social connections, and finding wellness balance in each new place. Each relocation taught me about resilience and that sustainable wellbeing depends on practices that adapt to your life.
I learned wellness isn't something you achieve, it's something you practice, stumble through, and return to again and again. Human connection matters as much as physical health.
Now, I bring that adaptability to how I coach: meeting you where you are, staying curious, exploring what works for you.
The Shift to Coaching
Throughout those years of figuring out what worked for my body, I kept witnessing smart, capable people struggle with the same challenges. Many knew what to do - eat better, move more, manage stress - but grappled with closing the knowing-doing gap.
Most wellness advice assumes stable routines and predictable bodies. Reality? Business travel derails gym habits. Stress eating kicks in during deadline weeks. What energised you at 30 injures you at 40.
Becoming a certified health and wellness coach felt like the natural next chapter. My years of trial and error had taught me that sustainable wellness isn't about perfection or copying someone else's routine, it's about creating practices that fit your actual life.
Currently
These days I'm energised by planning hiking adventures, exploring vibrant food markets across cultures, and convincing my body that strength training is actually enjoyable.
That meditation practice? We're kind of friends now. Some mornings the monkey mind still wins, but often it's shifted to something I genuinely treasure.
If you're curious about creating your own wellness practice - one that actually fits your life - let's connect and discover what your wellness path might look like. Greens optional!
